If you're a fond of a pond, then you will surely enjoy today's featured adventure. Located in a peaceful town of Chungbang Jung-ri, Sangryun-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. Twas a great opportunity to make a great memories with my in - laws who have migrated in America and are back for a few weeks visit and I was so blessed to be able to be a part of their journey of four days wandering around Gyeongsangnam - do.
Coming from Gimhea with nothing but only a clear plan of heading to Namhea Island the navigation was set to the German village. We planned to get there first and figure out where else to go next. But our adventure started while we were passing by this peaceful town of Sangryu.
The place was so calm and peaceful. It was about 9 am and was rainy but it stopped so lucky us! The place was so inviting and just on the way that explorers couldn't resist to take a peek. And wahlaaah! One thing I really love about Korea is they are very organized. They have information maps everywhere that chance of getting lost here is very slim. Also, it is very informative that you won't missed any spots ahead of your journey.
Obviously, we were late for the highlight of the lotus blooms. The flowers were expected to be in full bloom from July to June I supposed.
The parking lot was free of charge, and so as the admission fee. I think it is always free because I did not see any ticket both. And there weren't any particular entrance gate so you can enter the pond at any stairways at your own convenience..
We've enjoyed the scenery personally unfortunately, I wish I had better captured of the real beauty of the pond. The weather wasn't really cooperating plus, it will take me forever to get to the best spot to get the right angle as the pond was huge and we were only there for a quick stop.
We were enjoying the beautiful scenery with a do not disturb me healing mode when suddenly the fountain started. Bursting and flaunting its beauty.
It was indeed beautiful, supposed to be the pond fountain runs from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm in June to October, adding a beauty to the already awesome healing beautiful pond.
I've learned that Sangryu lotus park has a total area of 95,752 square meters with a lot of lotus flowers including water lily, red lily, white lily, yellow lily lotus, etc., and the water lily and lotus flower climax in June and July. We came here in the early September and lucky to have found a few blooms.
It was indeed a great time stopped over. I am definitely going back there to explore the place more. The quick stop was pretty exotic and tropical so cool!
Stone pagodas also added beauty on the landscape of the pond. I just love art.
Tips if you happened to plan visiting this place. Sangryu lotus park is adjacent to Sangdong Rock Park, which is a combination of dinosaur footprint fossil ground and natural scenery of Chunhyang. Chung Jongho, director of Sangli-myeon, visit the Sangryu lotus park and do it during summer so you can take a feast of the lotus flower as well as the festival.
I really enjoyed this visit since I love flowers! Is it a park where people enjoy looking at the plants or is it a company that grows them then sells them?
