Jinhea cherry blossoms adventure

Finishing up the spring with my favorite videos of my cherry blossoms adventure taken in the beautiful city of Jinhea. This video was compiled from my two latest visits covering our joyride with my friend Sonia and stop over with my friends Luther and Liza at the famous cherry blossom tunnel, Romantic stream and the Gyeonghwa train station.
This is one of the best place to visit during spring located in the Province of Gyeongnam. The blooming schedules therefore isn't guaranteed if you are booking an early trip as the global warming makes the forecast unpredictable.

If you live in Korea and you are driving a car, your Jinhea festival visit won't be complete if you aren't passing through this beautiful tunnel cherry blossoms.

But it usually blooms in either late March or early April make sure you are fully updated with the blooming schedules if this is your main purpose of visiting and you don't wanna be disappointed. Also try to avoid coming here on weekends, because even weekdays' the place is packed with tourist from all over the world.

Don't worry if you missed the bloom on the other side of the mountain, the west side usually comes late so you won't be that disappointed.
The tunnel from the west side starts here..
A quick stop over at the vie point deck.

The whole drive actually was all aisled with cherry blossoms.

I remember my first ever visit of this place back in 2007. I was walking my puppies when I met a local woman who was also walking her puppy. I was new here so my Korean language knowledge was limited but to my understanding of what she was trying to say was let's meet in front of your house at such time. I though she meant that we were walking together, but to my surprise she came with her car and drove me all the way to Jinhea just to show me this beautiful scenery.. Wonderful people aren't they?

South Korea

Introducing you the root of my concept, I am an immigrant and currently residing in this beautiful country South Korea. And I made a goal of exploring each and every corner of this beautiful country. This is South Korea Terrain Map that I've screened shot  from Google maps. A population of  51,194,511 and under a  judicial system country.

South Korea was divided into nine  Provinces North ChungcheongSouth ChungcheongGangwonGyeonggi,   North GyeongsangSouth GyeongsangNorth JeollaSouth Jeolla, and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province unfortunately, I was not able to visit the three of the provinces yet which is Gangwon,  South Chungcheon and North Jeolla. Still way more to go on my journey after mapping it. The I have visited the rest of the provinces, I still haven't been around every corner of each places. Let alone the province where I am resided, I have not visited it completely as well.
Confusions between North and South

Thanks to the social media almost most of the people are now  far aware that Korea was divided into two separate countries. South Korea and North Korea. Also, do not get confused over thses two like I always do. Pyeongchang is where the winter Olympic game was held in 2018 in South, and Pyeongyang is capital city the North.

Historically, The division happened at the end of world war 2 in 1945. South Korea went under the care of The United States of America, and the South therefore went under the Soviet Union.

And for the first time in history, the two had made a vow to end the war in historic accord. It was indeed a great historical mark that the two leaders have done in this era. 대한민국 진심으로 축하드립니다.

Pink sakura or cherry blossom picnic and adventure in Ulsan

I know I should be catching up on this year's spring explorations, but I just couldn't ignore my previous Spring adventures. Today I am going to share my wonderful pink cherry blossom adventure from last year.

Fun fun fun under the pink Sakura or Cherry blossom picnic with friends.

When my friends were talking about this Ulsan pink cherry blossom picnic adventure. I got curious so I googled it but I couldn't find any link that could lead me to it. Because I already have other plans which I don't wish to miss. But at the same time, Pink Sakura is kind of rare to find  here so, I don't wanna miss it as well.

The plan for the adventure had been on and off. Due to the weather forecast, crossing our fingers that the petals would last since it was in late April. But, Saturday came and the fun has begun for the pink Sakura picnic adventure. There were Three cars coming from Jangyu, and one from Busan. We're all foreigners and some had already been to the place. But my friend's husband who was driving the car that I hopped in to, was new to the place. So we were kind of relying on the navigation to get there.

We drove for about two hours or more and I got excited especially when
I saw that little pink tree. We found ourselves at Yulsandea Park when we arrived in Ulsan. Because the navigation was set to this address.

It's a famous flower park in Ulsan. The plan was to stop by here, since we drove that far but we were told that the flower festival was already due.
After few calls  to the host who invited us for the fun day we were told that we were not that far and some friends had already arrived.
We were tempted to go in, but we have to pay an admission fee, which we believe isn't worth it because we won't be able to stay long. As the theme park is huge, and were also told not to expect to see a pink Sakura because we weren't there yet.

We also have to pay parking fee. Which we we've been actually charge only for entering the parking lot. for only less than 15 minutes. It didn't cost  much though, just about few cents.

We got a wrong turn here and there trying to find our destination. But all was part of the adventure. And what a lovely day, we are very  thankful because the  forecast  said  it was going to rain. But it didn't. So lucky us!

We finally arrived at the place with no pressures and oh! My oh! My, I couldn't believe what my eyes were actually seeing! We weren't the last one tarrive, Lucky us again all was set.  Ha Ha Ha.

Hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm.......delicious smell,, You know what I mean? We were welcomed with the warm hospitality from the hosts, beautiful pink Sakura and the BBQ aroma.
The beautiful pink Sakura is located  in this private western type apartment compound owned by a ship building company in Ulsan. It was a privilege for me and my  other friends to be here.

Because this isn't open for public.  My friend's husbands are engineers working for the ship building companies. Two of our friend's husbands works for the company who owns this compound and they invited us.  So we were lucky to be able to enjoy this wonderful view.

The rest are working in another ship building company too. They are my fellow countrymen and their company provides housing and sponsors their family living arrangements in Korea.

The building structures really reminded me of Saipan. Except for the pink  Sakura and the beautiful weather.

The sky was perfectly blending its color for a nice background. I couldn't ask for any perfect day to come here. Very beautiful indeed.

Isn't it simply romantic?

So relaxing,I'm glad we brought my hammock with
us but, I couldn't stay still with my camera. (phone)

Just couldn't get enough of the beauty of this pink cherry blossom it looks like a paper flower made. Actually, according to the host there were a lot more of them before. But the owner have sold some of it.

We had a wonderful time and we wanted to stay more but, there were more places to see since we drove this far. We minus will take advantage the beauty of Ulsan.

We  then hit the road and headed to another adventure. And it will be
coming soon on our next upcoming stories.

Thank you

Unique buffet in Jangyu city

One thing everybody enjoy living in Korea is not just the amazing people, view, and culture but also the amazing food. What more fun could it be, if you can find them all at once.

That is what I feel whenever I am around my Korean friends. They are very kind, accommodating and they make my life easy and fun living in Korea. They pick me up for a drive and later come home with my phone gallery full of beautiful memories from our adventures.

Today, I am going to share one of my wonderful adventure last Friday. Last week of March to be exact. After a few minutes drive along a beautiful street with full blooms of cherry blossom https://youtu.be/CzoaToE4YDw .

We end up in this fantastic restaurant. Iv'e been here many times and took a lot of photos since it opened last year. But it still amazed me. This became popular nowadays that during lunch time people are lining up outside.

The entrance is usually filled with flowers except winter of course. Today it wasn't as pretty because it is just an early spring.

A table for 2 but we wanted to seat somewhere near the window.. (or food maybe?)  ha ha ha..

We came a bit late for lunch to avoid the crowd.

We sat ourselves and oh! look at the food waving at me.

I love the Korean  traditional interior, Korean restaurants always comes in a beautiful interior but I am a fond of such traditional one.

I am just so fascinated by the modernized traditional interior. The authenticity of the food. It is very homey. such a good idea.
                       Let's dig in!

The very kind owner (lady on the apron) allowed me to take  picture everywhere, while she was busy preparing for lunch pack take outs.

We filled our plates and dug in yum yum.. However, thought I used to pigged out whenever we come here, my mind is preoccupied with the beautiful cherry blossoms outside. I can't really concentrate with the food. We hurried so we can enjoy more from the other places.

With my other friends, we usually stay more and enjoy the coffee shop on the corner.

After eating we brought our plates on the dish out station. This one big difference of Korean buffet and western buffet even in Korea. The westernized buffet they really do it the western way. Waiters and waitresses dishes out your plates. But Korean buffet means self service. Such Mc Donalds and other western like it therefore, is also a self service in Korea. You are expected to clean up your mess before leaving the table.

Just outside the restaurant I ran and took some photos before we headed to another place.

What a great deal buffet for only 8,000 won with a nice interior and a wonderful location.
